Getting started with Upskiller
Set up your profile in two steps, then find your way around the dashboard.
From sign-up to a personalized career workspace in about 10 minutes.
What it is
Upskiller turns one profile — imported from your CV or LinkedIn — into the tools a job search actually needs: a polished CV, job-fit analysis, interview prep, mock interviews, a learning plan, and an application tracker. Onboarding is the two-step setup that captures your background and your target role, so every other feature can tailor its output to you.
When to use it
The first time you sign in. Until onboarding is complete, your dashboard redirects to the setup wizard and most features have little to personalize. You only do this once.
How to use it
Create your account. Sign in with Google, or with an email and password (6+ characters). New accounts get a welcome email.
Step 1 — Import your background. Choose one method:
- Upload CV — drag in a PDF or DOCX (up to 10 MB). We read it and fill in your name, role, summary, experience, education, skills, and certificates.
- Connect LinkedIn — paste your public profile URL (
https://linkedin.com/in/yourname). Your profile must be public.
Then click Continue.
Step 2 — Career goals. Confirm your current position, add your desired position (required), and describe your career goals. Click Complete setup.
You land on your dashboard. Everything from here on is personalized to you.
Find your way around
Your sidebar groups features by job:
- Your story — Profile / CV, Background documents
- The search — Job matcher, Job tracker, Community
- Interview prep — Interview cheat sheet, Mock interviews, Interview cards, Interview copilot
- Guidance — Career counselor, Preparation plan
Your dashboard home also shows a career readiness ring — your profile completeness as a percentage — with a short checklist of what to add next, plus quick actions to evaluate a position, track your jobs, or generate a plan.
Tips & best practices
- Import beats typing. A CV or LinkedIn import fills most of your profile in seconds; refine it afterward.
- Be specific in step 2. Your desired position drives every AI feature — "Senior Backend Engineer" personalizes far better than "developer."
- Push your profile toward 100%. The fuller your profile, the sharper your match scores, cheat sheet, and plan. The readiness ring tells you exactly what's missing.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
- "Upload failed." Check the file is a PDF or DOCX under 10 MB, then try again.
- My LinkedIn import was empty. Your profile must be public, and the URL must look like
linkedin.com/in/yourname. Make the profile public temporarily, or upload a CV instead. - I keep getting sent back to onboarding. Step 2 didn't save — reopen onboarding and submit the career-goals step again.
- Can I change this later? Yes — everything is editable anytime from Profile / CV.
- No welcome email? Check your spam folder; the system doesn't resend automatically.
