Career counselor
An AI career coach that already knows your profile, experience, and goals — ask it anything.
A career coach that already knows your story — no need to explain yourself first.
What it is
The career counselor is a chat with an AI coach that has your profile, experience, goals, and any background documents in context. Because it starts from your real situation, the advice is specific — career planning, skill gaps, salary negotiation, interview strategy, decision support. Conversations are saved, so you can pick up where you left off.
Availability: Available on all plans. The free plan includes a daily message limit; the Starter and Pro plans are unlimited.
When to use it
Whenever you'd text a mentor — weighing an offer, deciding what to learn next, planning a pivot, or talking yourself through a tough call. It's available around the clock and remembers the context.
How to use it
- Open Counselor. The first time, you'll see suggested prompts to get started, such as:
- Review my career path
- What skills should I develop next?
- Help me prepare for an interview
- How do I negotiate a job offer?
- Write a cover letter outline
- How do I transition to a new role?
- Click a prompt, or type your own question and press Enter (use Shift+Enter for a new line).
- The reply streams in as it's written. Hit the stop button to cut it short.
- Give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down on any answer to help tune future responses.
Manage conversations
Open the history panel to start a New chat, jump back into a past conversation, or delete one. Conversations are titled automatically after your first message.
Tips & best practices
- Give it something to react to. "I have two offers — here's the trade-off" gets a far better answer than "what should I do?"
- Complete your profile and add documents. The more it knows, the more specific its advice — see profile and background documents.
- Use separate chats for separate topics. A focused thread per question keeps the advice on track.
- Follow up. It remembers the conversation — push back, ask for specifics, or ask it to revise.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
- "Too many messages. Please wait a moment before trying again." You've hit a short rate limit — wait a minute and continue.
- "Please wait for the assistant to respond." A reply is still in progress — let it finish before sending the next message.
- It won't answer my question. The counselor sticks to careers — it'll redirect off-topic questions back to your career.
- Are my conversations private? Yes — they're tied to your account and used only to help you, not to train any model.
